Beaches of Longboat Key
Starting at the north end of Longboat Key at Longboat Pass (Anna Maria Island), the Longboat Key Beaches stretch 11 miles southward to Lido Key and St. Armands Circle. North Longboat is best known for the Longboat Key Village Community with its laid-back old-Florida lifestyle, which was the area of the Key first occupied by the original settlers of Longboat. The natural deep-water harbor has since become the site of numerous waterfront restaurants and is a destination for boaters who enjoy entertaining friends and family by boat.
Did we forget to mention the crystal clear waters of Longboat Key? More adventurous beachgoers will want to experience the lifestyle – beyond the water’s edge. Swimming, boating, fishing (offshore and inshore), paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, cruising, snorkeling/SCUBA diving, restaurant hopping,…
The south end of Longboat Key is the gateway to St. Armands Circle and Downtown Sarasota. The most notable resort on the south end is the Longboat Key Club, with resort-style pools, restaurants, golf, tennis, a fitness center, and everything you expect in a luxury beachfront resort.
On the bayside, The Longboat Key Moorings offers the largest deep-water harborage on Florida’s West Coast.
