Harbourside Course at the Longboat Key Club
The Harbourside Course opened in 1982 and was designed by Nai Chung and Willard Byrd. The course consists of three nine-hole courses, making three different 18-hole options for its golfers. Many holes are located alongside Sarasota Bay and the Longboat Key Club Moorings.
All three courses have their own distinct characteristics. The Red Hawk 9 holes and many water hazards, runs along the Gulf of Mexico Drive and is 3,323 yards. The White Egret nine runs past the Longboat Key Club Moorings at 3,426 yards. The Blue Heron (Blue Course) 9 hole is located at the north end of Bay Isles along Sarasota Bay and measures 3,368 yards.

Playing Harbourside Golf Course
The Harbourside at Longboat Key Club is a challenging, 27-hole, three-distant golf course in Sarasota that offers a unique experience with its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. The course winds through stands of oak, sabal palm, fiddle-leaf palm, Washingtonian palm, fig, palmetto, and southern pine and is known for its tree-lined fairways and swirling winds that put a premium on shot-making and course strategy.
In 2005, a $2 million renovation of the Blue course, officially changed to Blue Heron by golf course architect Ron Garl was completed, which included upgrading the putting surfaces to USGA specs, adding new bunkers and chipping areas, and revamping the 580-yard par-5 fifth hole to create a beautiful peninsula green. This award-winning golf course continues to offer a refreshing challenge to golfers year-round.
